Opening with "Wasted Words," one of those downright perfect Gregg Allman tunes (think "Ain't Wastin' Time No More" or "Stand Back"), 1973's Brothers and Sisters is the band's first album without both Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. Dickey Betts assumes much of the songwriting and delivers straight classic material -- "Jessica," "Southbound" and "Ramblin' Man" remain among their most recognized songs today, approximately 250 years later -- and while Duane's guitar is sorely missed, Betts delivers consistently mind-blowing leads (see the aforementioned song triumvirate).
