The Alternate Routes

The Alternate Routes

Biography

The Alternate Routes play rootsy pop that is built on gently harmonized melodies and big choruses. They were founded by Eric Donnelly and Tim Warren when they were students at Connecticut's Fairfield University. After putting together a band that included bassist Chip Johnson and playing some gigs in the Boston area, the band gambled money from a gig at a casino and won, which funded the band's early recording sessions. With drummer Stephen Chopek and instrumentalist Mike Sembos the line up was complete, and the band toured across the Eastern Seaboard. Their debut LP Good and Reckless and True was issued by and high-powered indie Vagrant in 2007.
