Released:
Label: Frenchkiss Records
This EP offers up alternate versions of tracks from 2011's excellent Burst Apart, along with woozy B-side "Tongue Tied" and a cover of The xx's "VCR." Together was mostly an excuse to jam in the studio with likeminded experimenters Neon Indian (on "Rolled Together") and Bear in Heaven (on the 18-minute noodler "Parentheses"). It means funkier, glitchier, spacier takes on the originals, but also much less of Peter Silberman's haunting falsetto, except for on his minimalist version of "I Don't Want Love" or "Hounds," where he's joined by the lovely Nicole Atkins.
