Released:
Label: Capitol Records
Between incessant touring and Capitol Records' demands for more hit singles, The Beach Boys were crazy-busy all throughout 1965. Perhaps this explains why Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!) isn't as consistent as its predecessor, The Beach Boys Today! While the album does boast some of Brian Wilson's most accomplished pop productions to date (including "You're So Good To Me," "Let Him Run Wild," "Girl Don't Tell Me" and the hedonistic splendor that is "California Girls"), it's padded with several cover songs and novelties, like "Then I Kissed Her," "Amusement Parks U.S.A." and "Salt Lake City."
