The Beau Brummels
Released: Apr 2009
Label: Rhino/Warner Bros.
The Beau Brummels reunited in 1974 for a spate of live shows. They then re-signed with their old label, Warner Bros., and dropped The Beau Brummels, a crystalline chunk of melancholic West Coast pop shaded with laser-guided harmonies, plucky banjo, Rhodes piano, funky percussion and country grooves. Although this LP didn't generate much commercial interest at the time, fans of Fleetwood Mac and Steely Dan will eat it right up. This is soft rock at its most sublime, seriously.
