The Black Crowes are like your favorite pair of jeans. Sure, they're riddled with holes, but man oh man, are they comfortable. Before the Frost ... Until the Freeze, the group's eight studio album, is like every other Crowes album: a finely crafted jaunt through classic rock's back pages. Though Chris Robinson's already thin voice is beginning to fray around the edges, his group's ensemble interplay is as solid as ever. They even take a stab at disco-tinged funk on "I Ain't Hiding."
