Being a band for nearly three decades tends to travel one of two roads -- slow, respectable evolution or slow, pitiful dissolution. Some may have already marked the Church as the latter due to inconsistent releases and commercial duds. But there's nothing more reputable than releasing some of your best material when no one sees it coming. And that's just what the Church have done on Untitled #23, with hazy whispers of Floyd, Spiritualized, Bowie and Television. Chiming guitars and sleepy-eyed chants will leave you floating over the Milky Way long after the last chord fades.
