Joe Strummer sacked Mick Jones, hired a bunch of guys with James Dean getups and cut this crappy album. "This Is England" can stand with their best, and there's a good song lurking beneath the ham-fisted production and strident performance of "North and South," but that's about it. By trying not to sound old and tired, Strummer & Co sound really old and very tired.
