In the realm of rock journalism there's a cliched piece of advice that warns writers to never meet their heroes. Our very own Tim Quirk lays that dumb notion to rest here as he interviews his longtime hero Mick Jones, founding member of the Clash (and Big Audio Dynamite). The enthusiasm here is alive and contagious as Jones talks about his heroes the Who, recording in Jamaica for the first time, memories of Joe Strummer, the flummoxing diversity of styles of 1980's Sandinista! and how hip-hop can be regarded as America's punk. This is easily one of our best interviews to date.
