The Delta 72 are a stumble away from a psychotic blues reaction and a stagger away from full R&B dementia. With a foundation of a few ballsy guitar riffs and the whine of a Farfisa organ, the band developed their sound with what seemed like endless tours of the East Coast and the Midwest. What better place to develop a mutated form of R&B than a bunch of smoke-filled, booze-drenched Punk clubs? The tracks featured here are sweaty concoctions of hip shaking, head bobbing, back wrenching, groove-laden rhythms. Drums pound, guitars scream, an organ pulsates in communion with bass guitar and frenzied vocals.
