Live In Vancouver 1970
The Doors
Released:
Nov 2010
Label:
Rhino/Elektra
Live in Vancouver 1970, recorded the same year as Morrison Hotel, finds the band knee-deep in its blues-rock phase. In terms of fidelity, this two-disc set sounds more like a bootleg from back in the day, all grainy and raw, than an official release from Rhino. That's really pretty cool. Blues master Albert King makes an appearance on a handful of genre standards, including a "Who Do You Love" that chugs with conviction. The concert's real gems, however, are the extended psychedelic workouts "The End" and "When the Music's Over." Robby Krieger's guitar -- always underrated -- totally slays.
