It's appropriate that this Dream release has no love in the title. He's always had a slippery grasp on the word's meaning, as he admits on "New Orleans": "How can I love this b*tch/ And at the same time say, 'F*ck this b*tch'?" In more practical terms, IV Play isn't united by any concept, just his deliciously filthy lyrics and the bedroom thump of babymaker R&B. "Michael" is an impeccable slice of raunch, and "Where Have You Been" unites him with Kelly Rowland. If you thought IV Play was the new concept, he sings, "I could give a f*ck about the foreplay/ I want it now."
