Released: Nov 2008

The End of the World's second LP begins with a demand from a live gig -- a beery insistence to "Get more sentimental!" When they lurch and swoon through the arching melody of "Jody" a second later, it's obvious that an overly postured lack of sentimentality -- the pose that makes so many Brooklyn It-bands so underwhelming -- isn't a problem. Much of the ache is in Stefan Marolachakis' vocal, but the best stuff, like "I Don't Wanna Lose" and "Favorite Time of the Year," also draws on big chords, weeping slide guitar and the Pet Sounds-y "ahs" of bygone AM rock radio.
