Doom Abuse by The Faint
Released: Apr 2014
Label: SQE Music
Todd Fink and his nervy synth-rockers offer the same good, anxious album they've been making since perfecting their formula on 2001's anniversary-worthy Danse Macabre (though their latter-day stuff doesn't get the respect it deserves: 2008's scary abuse ballad "I Treat You Wrong" is as good as anything they've done). Their solidity is as danceable as ever on Doom Abuse, with a few surprises, namely the Devo-esque plink-plink of "Dress Code" and the tech-glam pop-punk of "Scapegoat."
