Biography

The three Felice brothers -- Ian (guitar), James (accordion, piano, vocals) and Simone (drums, guitar, vocals) -- started out playing at barbecues in the Catskills and then in N.Y.C. subway stations. Since 2005, they've released just about an album a year and toured the country as a major highlight on the modern folk scene. Blending The Band, John Prine, Bob Dylan and a host of perfectly nailed Americana touches, the group eventually included fiddler Greg Farley and bassist Christmas Clapton, and added a horn section for their 2008 self-titled major-label debut. Simone left in 2009 and started his own group, The Duke & the King. In addition to making numerous festival appearances, The Felice Brothers went on tour with the Dave Matthews Band in 2010. Their 2011 album, Celebration, Florida found the band folding in electronic textures and elements of dancehall.
