This is easily the Felice Brothers' most accomplished batch of recordings to date. Unlike their previous three efforts, which more or less documented the group as a live act, Yonder is the Clock is a finely crafted album. Just about every tune here -- even rambunctious backwoods rockers like "Chicken Wire" and "Memphis Flu" -- feels wonderfully three-dimensional. What hasn't changed, however, are the lyrics. As always, Ian Felice croaks, moans and wails about a long list of lovers, loners and losers.
