The Hair and Skin Trading Company

The less distinguished of the two groups to arise from late-1980s drone rockers Loop (the other being the more ambient/experimental Main), this three-piece did at least have the more interesting name. They pushed at the confines of the basic rock band format with their repetitive bass/guitar figures and minimalist drum patterns. They sometimes abandoned them completely, instead creating spaced-out drones built on layers of feedback and otherwise effects-laden guitars.
