Whether or not Gram Parsons' first full-length was also the first country rock LP isn't as important as is the fact that it was the reason why Parsons' vocals were later stricken from the seminal Byrds album Sweetheart Of The Rodeo (still under contract from Lee Hazlewood Industries, Parsons was forced to let Roger McGuinn sing his parts). With an early marijuana reference, "Blue Eyes" could be the first cowpunk song while "Luxury Liner" is a cult hit that was later covered by Emmylou Harris. This reissue contains a rare gem in the bonus track "Knee Deep in the Blues."
