Their love of men's suiting and sepia-toned album covers notwithstanding, Brooklyn's Lone Bellow have a lot more to their sound than earnest alt-folk affections (though they definitely have that). Opener "Green Eyes and a Heart of Gold" boasts a brassy his-&-her Fleetwood Mac rock swagger, and "You Never Need Nobody" has a damn gospel choir on it. Plus vocalist Zach Williams doesn't not sound like Bon Jovi (and neither don't his songs, in places -- a perfectly good thing). If they'd lose the bow ties you might not mistake them for the Lumineers, but they probably won't so you probably will.
