by The Matches
Released: Sep 2006
This second outing from the Matches mashes up electronics, '80s new wave, cheesy metal riffs and orchestral scores with their usual punk-pop to create the completely unexpected. In a feat usually reserved for entourage-welcoming genres like hip hop, this Oakland quartet has brought in nine different producers and a grab-bag of ideas. The result is a complex and ambitious effort that is anything but decomposed.
