For Almost Ever Scooter collects nearly every official release from the Mice, one of Ohio's great independent rock bands. That, of course, is quite a declaration, considering the Buckeye State has produced some truly legendary cult artists, including Jim Shepard, the Electric Eels and Guided by Voices. Speaking of G.B.V., the Mice's punky brand of power pop -- especially the lo-fi jangle of songs like "Downtown" and "Little Rage" -- exerted a huge influence on Robert Pollard.
