The Monochrome Set were one of the most creative and critically acclaimed bands of the new wave era. The Set put an ironic English art school spin on styles that sometimes recall French and Italian soundtracks from the 1960s. This set collects two of their finest albums. The first 11 songs are from their 1980 debut, Strange Boutique, which cemented their sardonic, modernist take on 1960s pop and film styles. The rest of the CD is culled from Love Zombies, an even more experimental and surreal ride.
