Days Of Future Passed

Days Of Future Passed by The Moody Blues
Released: Nov 1967
Label: Universal Motown Records Group
Released in the autumn of 1967, The Moody Blues' Days of Future Passed hasn't aged quite as well as other psychedelic landmarks (The Pretty Things' S.F. Sorrow and Love's Forever Changes spring to mind). Yet the song cycle's impact on the evolutions of psychedelia, prog rock and art pop cannot be overestimated. Setting aside the concept (a day in the life of a working class stiff set to gooey orchestration), the music makes for a true sonic experience. The album, of course, climaxes with "Nights in White Satin," one of the all-time classic hippie love-pad ballads.
