About The Olympic Death Squad

The Olympic Death Squad was one of Mark Robinson's one-off side projects after the demise of the heavily lauded Unrest in '94. Whereas Air Miami had a bit more kitsch and revisited the electronic minimalism of New Wave, The Olympic Death Squad went back to droning guitars and Robinson's soft, murmuring vocals (aside from the angular post punk of opening track "This Is Riot Gear.") Certainly not eschewing minimalism, the Olympic Death Squad record clocks in at under thirty minutes and revolves around this formula: with four chords and a guitar hook you can make a beautiful pop record.
