The Peasall Sisters

Ever since the Peasall sisters -- Sarah, 18, Hannah, 14, and Leah 12 -- first performed at their grandparent's church on a visit to Florida eight years ago, music has become the main focus of their young lives. When the trio first started out, they were originally known as Precious and sang for people in hospitals, nursing homes and in church. The sisters' warm harmonies and old-time Americana sound was just the thing to lift spirits, and the girls proved to be a popular attraction in the South. In 1999, they auditioned for parts in the Coen brothers' movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and while they didn't get the part, the experience ended up being their "big break": their rich, beautiful harmonies were used in the movie and on the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack. Their aptly titled debut, First Offering, was released in 2002 and appearances at Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall and the Grand Ole Opry followed. The sisters were picked up by Dualtone Records and released Home to You in 2005. Recorded outside of Nashville by John Carter Cash (Johnny Cash's son), Home to You radiates a warmth and spirituality that clearly comes from the sister's Southern Baptist experiences.
