The Pretty Things (Bonus Tracks)
The Pretty Things

Snapper Classics
Similar to the Stones' earliest material, The Pretty Things' 1965 debut is made up almost entirely of R&B and blues covers. The Pretty Things features no less than three Bo Diddley covers (the band even got their name from one of his songs), and although the flat-out genius of Parachute and S.F. Sorrow is a ways off, the careening freak-outs in the middle of "Road Runner" point to the good things to come. As for songs they wrote themselves, "Honey, I Need" is way better than the Stones' first self-composition, "Tell Him."
