The Ready Set is the solo alias of Indiana's Jordan Witzigreuter. If his alias seems to make him the perfect opening act for OK Go, that makes sense: The Ready Set's music shares their complex harmonies and power-pop drive, though filtered through a hyperactive, post-everything sensibility befitting of his age. (He was just 19 years old when he got his major-label deal, in 2009.) Like Owl City, Witzigreuter got his start in his bedroom, and writes and records all his own material; his music is a similar mixture of electro-pop, emo, hip-hop, R&B and good old-fashioned Top 40 songwriting. The mop-topped producer initially booked all his own shows through MySpace contacts; after his management passed a demo on to Pete Wentz, whose Decaydance label eventually signed him, he quickly shot to fame among the Hot Topic set. He released his debut album, Tantrum Castle, in 2009, and followed it with 2010's I'm Alive, I'm Dreaming.
