If you can listen beyond the synth-heavy '80s production sensibility on the Roches' first and only Christmas release, the sisters' harmonies are every bit as stunning as any of their efforts from earlier in their career. The traditional sacred anthems, like "Angels We Have Heard on High" and "We Three Kings," work best a cappella but are occasionally offset by secular selections of glassy holiday-themed synth folk, such as the original "Christmas Passing Through."
