Deeply influenced by Lucinda Williams' Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, The Roseline offers a sort of alt country rock with the vague sense of loss Williams steeps her music in. Songs reflecting painful memories, painful breakups and a friend getting diagnosed with cancer ("You'll Be Fine") contribute to the feeling that this band is not out for a good time. The Roseline successfully resurrects the bad old days the way any No Depression band worth their Uncle Tupelo records once did.
