Waitin' for the Night is the band's third album, and one of three released in 1977 alone. Singer Cherie Currie had left before its recording, and a 19-year-old Joan Jett handles the vocals. Still, Lita Ford steals the show with consistently ballsy guitar playing and her deliberate, heavy Sabbath-doom composition, "Fantasies." That tune is pretty much the best song on the album, not to mention among the group's best. Maybe not as inspired as they were on their first two records, this is still The Runaways' early days and, really, listening to tough-as-nails teenagers rock out never gets old.
