The Script's formula of sensitive stadium rock and hip-hop beats has, by their second album, become so normalized that Science and Faith feels as familiar as an old shoe (or, perhaps more accurately, old hoodie). Which isn't to say it's not exciting. The emotional drama runs deliciously high, and these boys know how to harness it into palatable pop nuggets that go down more like spoonfuls of sugar than bitter pills. "Walk Away," with its B.o.B. cameo, hangdog vocals, and combination of sweeping strings, intense keys and driving beats, is particularly yummy. Angst never felt so comfortable.
