Without Sea and Cake's usual lengthy hiatus between albums, there's a snug and seamless flow between the breezy, innocuous indie-jazz-lounge-pop of previous album Everybody and this similar follow-up. With the blithe precision of each bounce of John McEntire's drumsticks and every punctuated note of Sam Prekop's hushed voice, it's easy to get lost in sandy beach daydreams while listening. But acoustic buildups and subtle loops keep the reveries interesting, particularly on the Tetris-like bleeps of "CMS Sequence" and the bold beats and jittery synths on "Weekend."
