Biography
Raleigh, N.C., Bluegrass outfit the Shady Grove Band have played (and more amazingly, counted) more than 2,000 live performances throughout Europe and North America since 1981. They blend towering three and four-part male/female vocal harmonies with stylish string-picking atop old-timey instrumentation -- banjo, dobro, mandolin, guitar, and upright bass. Their honest passion for American Roots music blends both newgrass and old-timey songs with a uniquely American vision. Shady Grove Band's bass player and singer-songwriter Adael Shinn cut her teeth playing with John Hartford and Earl Scruggs.
