With Terry Hall and other Specials jumping ship, Jerry Dammers puttered around in the studio for a couple of years and came up with this oddity. The celebratory "Free Nelson Mandela" became a club hit on both sides of the Atlantic but most songs aren't memorable and the old magic is gone. However, the tunes do benefit from Dammers' vivid arrangements and production ideas.
