Biography

One of the best female backing groups of the 1960s, the Sweet Inspirations accompanied everyone from the Drifters and Van Morrison to Aretha Franklin and Wilson Pickett. Many one-time members of these Stax/Volt stalwarts went on to have great success on their own, including Dionne Warwick and Cissy Houston.
