It's not such a rare thing anymore for a film, TV show or even a commercial to swiftly push a band into the spotlight, and The Temper Trap are proof. The alt-rockers from Melbourne, Australia, whose anthemic melodies and falsetto flourishes recall stadium fillers like Coldplay and Muse, saw a hefty boost in ticket sales across the Pacific when their song "Sweet Disposition" was featured in a trailer for the 2009 Zooey Deschanel flick (500) Days of Summer. The track has everything a music supervisor could dream of: a slow-building melody that bursts into chilling crescendos, perfect for that quintessential "aha!" scene when true love is finally realized and he/she needs to be chased down before he/she is gone forever. Still reeling from the buzz of that single, The Temper Trap released their debut album, Conditions, in June 2009. It peaked at No. 175 on the Billboard charts.
