Australia's the Temper Trap stood out amongst the indie elite on the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack with their track "Sweet Disposition." That song remains the standard to uphold on their debut, and flickers of it pop throughout. All the elements for Coldplay comparisons are in place: rocketing crescendos, glimmering guitars, dashes of Hammond organ, a standout falsetto, sensitive lyrics that make men secretly weep and women openly swoon. But the band adds to that equation with hints of Arcade Fire on "Down River" and stellar rumbling rhythms on "Drum Song."
