Should you happen to be one of those people who don't let petty things like obscurity get in the way of your musical taste, the Toms' Simplicity might become one of your favorite albums, especially if you have a fondness for bygone, guitar-driven power pop in the spirit of the Knack, the Raspberries and Badfinger. A follow up to 1979's self-titled debut, Simplicity isn't much of a departure, but the harmonies are tighter, the production is cleaner and Tom Marolda's penchant for Beatle-barbed hooks births contagious melodies that will stay in your head for days.
