The Underground Lovers
Of all the art-school bands on 4AD, the Underground Lovers were one of the most underrated. Their lush soundscapes dripped Dream Pop undertones, with curtains of watery guitar and androgynous harmonies. The band's passionate songs lovingly tear you apart, much like Slowdive's Just For A Day. The Underground Lovers would have been a refreshing addition to the This Mortal Coil saga, had Ivo Watts-Russel not thrown in the towel for the Hope Blister.
