Utah's leading lights of the modern active rock scene seek to break new ground with this, their fourth studio album and first without longtime producer John Feldmann. Instead, Panic At the Disco producer Matt Squire twiddles the knobs and pushes the band into some fairly surprising corners. The characteristically sober piano ballad "Kissing You Goodbye," with references to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the drum crash-in of Led Zeppelin's "Your Time Is Gonna Come," stands as the best song on the album. Elsewhere, the guitars are loud, loud, loud, which is the whole idea, really.
