Shallow Believer collects together B-sides and previously released bonus tracks from the Used's first three records. While the EP (their first ever) may serve completists better than folks just discovering the formerly homeless emo big shots, the guitar crunch and singer Bert McCracken's now signature screams on the scornful rocker "Devil Beside You" and the throat-flaying winner "Choke Me" make this stopgap release worth at least a few spins.
