The Wild Feathers are an interesting band. For the bulk of their debut album, the Nashville outfit plays the role of rootsy alt-rockers raised on Ryan Adams, The White Stripes and (early) Kings Of Leon. The most telling examples of this are opener "Backwoods Company," "I'm Alive" and "American." But at the same time, several tunes -- including the ballad "I Can Have You" and hard-strummer "The Ceiling" -- possess a radio-pop polish that definitely feels geared towards the legion of old school Eagles fans who in recent decades have adopted mainstream country music as their new classic rock.
