If They Might Be Giants were farmers, they wouldn't be the kind that would rotate their crops much. That is to say, the fruits of their fertile imaginations are no different than they have ever been: perfect bites of pop manna with healthy sides of non sequitur. The Else finds the two Johns (Linnell and Flansburgh) as sharp as ever, tilling soil familiar to fans of the salad days of Lincoln and Flood. What is most extraordinary about these two is that in spite of their absurdity (there's a ballad here about head trauma), they make insightful commentary for grown-ups.
