On the appropriately named It Takes a Thief, the Washington, D.C. duo ransacks its own back catalog, presenting three or four cuts apiece from each of their principal albums. Even considering the languor of their music, they don't seem to be particularly ambitious thieves: Many of these tracks have been compiled elsewhere, and they ignore any pre-2000 output. Still, if you've worn out your Kruder & Dorfmeister discs and need something to go with your Merlot, these vaguely ethno-flavored downtempo dub jams do the trick.
