Fighting (Bonus Tracks)
Thin Lizzy
Released:
Sep 1975
Label:
Mercury Records
Jailbreak is considered Thin Lizzy's masterpiece, but if you polled enough longtime fans, its predecessor, 1975's Fighting, would garner more than a few votes. This is where the band's patented sound really came together: Phil Lynott's angst-fueled folk-rock + the proto-metal twin leads of guitarists Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. We all know Springsteen is an icon, but in all honesty, the dude never produced working-class bar rock as bruising as "King's Vengeance" and "Ballad of a Hard Man."
