Those Darlins open their snockered debut running red lights with a "Summertime Blues" bassline, end it drawling about keeping their skillets greasy, and have a gals' night out in between, confessing to binge-eating episodes and hanging up on boys with hang-ups. Cigar-box-primal stomp-and-swerve comically mutates into psychobilly dissonance, three-sheets-to-the-wind wobble, Hawaiian jug-band lilt and power-pop bounce. "Cannonball Blues" updates a West Virginia mountaineer's 1929 train escape, while "DUI or Die" drives itself to the same hospital Diddley and the Dolls knew in "Pills."
