At first you might think Thursday combines the pulsing New Wave of such long-gone bands as the Fixx and Flock Of Seagulls grafted onto a Radiohead-ish melancholy to create a hyper melodic alterna rock. But as it turns out, they are simply playing emo, albeit with more vocal harmonies and synthesizers than the majority of their colleagues. The good news is they do it well and aren't afraid to use their guitars as some kind of sonic bludgeoning tool.
