Biography

This pint-size Star Search winner packs a bigger wallop than her innocent good looks would have you believe. With a voice that rolled off the same assembly line as Whitney Houston's, Evans wowed audiences on Star Search at the age of 10, and she signed to Columbia Records not long after. While her early singles profile a girl straining -- almost unbearably -- to show off her powerhouse vocals, 2006's "Who I Am" suggests the singer's figuring out that subtle phrasing beats sheer power every time.
