Label: Curb Records
Released in 1993, Tim McGraw's debut brought him no recognition, and although it features the same sheen of authenticity (read: slide guitars and plenty of honky-tonk boogie) that made follow-up Not a Moment Too Soon a critical as well as commercial success, the multiple singles here failed to crack the charts. Still, the Joe Diffie-penned "Memory Lane" and "Two-Steppin' Mind" are as effective as any of McGraw's best known songs, while "Welcome to the Club" bridges the gap between the new traditionalist and new country eras.
