Invencible by Tito El Bambino
Released: Feb 2011
Can we call what Tito El Bambino does "reggaeton" anymore? He cultivates a kind of everyman vibe on Invencible, which veers heavily into salsa and pop territory, even as it retains a subtle undercurrent of riddim. Every track is smooth as glass, with perfectly Auto-Tuned vocals, perfectly pleasant beats, and perfectly charming guests (including a kids' choir on the opener and salsa greats Gilberto Santa Rosa and Hector Acosta on "Éramos Niños"). For another reggaeton artist, that album title might imply braggadocio, but Tito is invincible because he comes off as a well-rounded, all-around nice guy.
